James A. Lafond

James A. Lafond Jr.1967-2013CHICOPEE- James "Yogi" A. Lafond Jr., 46, entered into eternal rest on Thursday, May 30, 2013 in Baystate Medical Center. He was born in Palmer on March 4, 1967, a son of James A. Lafond Sr., and Yvonne J. (Smart) Lafond of Chicopee. James graduated from Pathfinder Regional High School and was a U.S. Navy veteran. He was a truck driver for Hirsch Pack (formerly Van Pack). He loved driving his truck and watching movies. Besides his parents, James' is survived by his fiancé, Laureen Sprague; two daughters, Jessica Lafond of Bondsville, and Ashley Lafond of Westfield; a grandson, Garrett Lafond; a brother, Stephen A. Lafond and his wife Donna of Springfield; a niece, Kaitlyn; a nephew, Ethan; and several other family members. James' family will receive relatives and friends at the gathering on Monday, June 3rd from 4-7 p.m. at the Tylunas Funeral Home, 159 Broadway St., Chicopee. Burial will be private in St. Anne's Cemetery, Three Rivers. Memorial contributions may be made in James' memory to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St. Framingham, MA 01701.
