James N. Lewis 1931-2005 CHICOPEE- James "Jim" N. Lewis, 74, formerly of Springfield and Ohio and a resident of Chicopee since 1963 entered into eternal rest on Wednesday September 14, 2005 at the Riverdale Gardens Nursing Home in West Springfield. Jim was born and educated in Ohio and retired from Hamilton Standard in Windsor Locks, CT and had worked prior at Fisk/Uniroyal Tire in Chicopee. He was a U.S. Navy Korean Conflict veteran, receiving the National Defense Service Medal. Jim was a communicant of St. Patrick's Church in Chicopee. He was predeceased by his wife, Flora R. (Hervieux) Lewis on August 20, 2000, and a daughter, Kim Anne Barrett on October 26, 1999. Jim is survived by his four sons; Eugene T. Hebert of Florida, Michael W. Hebert of Chicopee, Mark S. Hebert of Holyoke, and James M. Lewis of Feeding Hills, three daughters, Susan D. Vik of New Jersey, Debra A. Lenguiza of Holyoke, and Linda L. Hurd of Feeding Hills, a sister Sandra Scott of Ohio, 23 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will begin on Monday September 19th at 9 a.m. from the Tylunas Funeral Home, 159 Broadway, with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at St. Patrick's Church, 319 Broadway, with rites of Committal to follow in St. Patrick's Cemetery, Fuller Rd., all in Chicopee. Jim's family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday September 18th from 3-6 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the MSPCA, 171 Union St. Springfield, MA 01108.
