James Mcgregor

James McGregor 1943 - 2012 Chicopee -James McGregor, 69, died Wednesday, September 26th at Baystate Medical Center. Born in Glasgow, Scotland on June 2, 1943 he was the son of the late James and Davidina (McEwan) McGregor. He lived in Scotland for 13 years before moving to Springfield where he graduated from the Springfield Trade School. He later moved to Agawam where he and his first wife, Florence, raised their family. She predeceased him in 1990. Jim moved to Chicopee and met his current wife, Joan (Provost) McGregor. They have been together for 20 years, marrying in 2007. Jim worked for various trucking companies and retired from Mack Truck Co. of West Springfield in 2007 after 15 years as a salesman there.  He was a communicant of St. Anne Church in Chicopee and a member of the K of C Local 69 and loved going there. He also enjoyed spending time at his camp in Jamestown, RI. and liked traveling to Florida, Myrtle Beach and Kentucky. Jim was a devoted father and grandfather.  With his first wife he leaves two sons, James McGregor and his wife Brittany and Stuart McGregor and his wife Jessica; one daughter Caroline M. Blanchard and her husband Tom all of Agawam.  With his wife Joan, he leaves her two children, Tammy Roy of Chicopee and Leo Provost of Ludlow; one brother Eric McGregor and his wife Kelley of Ludlow; one sister Silvia Forget and her husband Henri of Granby; 13 cherished grandchildren and his puppy "Miss Chloe".  The family extends a special thank you to the staff at the Dialysis Center of Western Mass.  The funeral will be held from the Tylunas Funeral Home, 159 Broadway, Chicopee, on Monday, October 1, at 9 a.m. with a funeral mass in St. Anne's Church, 30 College St. Chicopee, at 10am, and  burial in Agawam Center Cemetery.
