James A. Montemagni

James Alan Montemagni 1924-2011 CHICOPEE- James A. Montemagni, 87, of 37 Peter Street, Chicopee, died Tuesday, September 13, 2011 at home. Born on April 14, 1924 he was the son of the late Angelo and Columba (Remetti) Montemagni. He was employed as a manager for 45 years at the Colony Club, an exclusive private club in Springfield, retiring in 1989. He was a member of the Fairview Knights of Columbus. He was a communicant of St. Patrick's Church in Chicopee and Sacred Heart Church in Springfield. He leaves his wife of 62 years, Mary A. (Ringuette) Montemagni, son Gary A. and wife Mary of West Dover, VT, three daughters Donna M. Liamis and husband James of West Suffield, CT, Darlene A. Moser and husband Stephen of Springfield, Angela Montemagni and husband Theodore Adams of Andover, CT, daughter-in-law Janet Montemagni of Granby, two brothers Edward and Dolf Montemagni and two sisters Carm Hough and Jean Barker, all of Chicopee, fifteen grandchildren Brenda Sheman, Nicholas, Anthony, Angelo, Rachel, Angel, and Gina Montemagni, Benjamin, Mary, Emma, Eliza, Isabella, and Anna Sophia Moser, Meaghan and Carissa Adams. He was predeceased by his son J. Randy Montemagni on May 16, 2011 and his sister Nana Lombardi. The funeral will be held from the Tylunas Funeral Home, 159 Broadway, Chicopee, Saturday at 9am with a liturgy of Christian burial at Sacred Heart Church at 10am.
