James Roger Noonan

James Roger Noonan of Chicopee, age 88, passed away on April 16, 2025. He was born January 8, 1937 in Springfield to the late Bernard and Rose (Lamothe) Noonan. James graduated from Technical High School in 1955 and then attended Holyoke Community College. He joined the US Air Force in 1959 and remained in the reserves for 10 years as a Tech Sergeant. James married the love of his life, Beverly (Flagg) Noonan in 1963. Over the years he worked for McCormick Stone Co., B&B Lawn Sprinkler Co., and worked for Red Star Express as a truck driver until retiring in 2001. In his retirement years, he worked at the Springfield Country Club. He always enjoyed traveling, fan of the UConn Women’s Basketball team, Green Bay Packers, and has been on every Disney Cruise ship and Disneyworld many a times. James was a member of the First Congregational Church of South Hadley for many years.
James is predeceased by his parents, his brothers Bernie and Paul Noonan and his sister Dorothy Maziarz. Survived by his loving wife Beverly Noonan, his son Timothy Noonan and wife Nancy of Chicopee, his daughters Tammy Noonan of Chicopee and Tiffany Noonan and of Farmington, CT, his brother George Noonan of Port Orange, FL, and his grandchildren Amanda, Brandon, Matthew and fiancé Alexis, Nicholas, Abiageal, and Aiden.
Visiting hours will be on Thursday, May 15 from 5-7 pm. A graveside committal service and military funeral honors will be held Friday, May 16, 2025, beginning promptly at 9:00 AM at the Massachusetts Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery at 1390 Main Street, Agawam. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a contribution to Shiners Children’s New England, Office of Philanthropy 516 Carew Street, Springfield, MA. 01104 in James’ memory.
