Jeannette A. Perez1924-2013NORTHAMPTON- Jeannette A. Perez, 89, of Charlemont, entered into eternal rest on Monday, October 7, 2013 in Colley Dickinson Hospital. She was born in Penuelas, Puerto Rico, on April 18, 1924, a daughter of the late Luis and Leonor (Torres) Perez. Jeannette retired from Beth Israel Hospital in New York as a Registered Nurse and worked for many years in the A.I.D.S Unit. She was a member of Marantha Bible Chapel. Jeannette enjoyed gardening, singing, taking care of people and Hershey Bars, but received the most enjoyment when she was spending time with her family. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Louis Colon on May 21, 1974, and a granddaughter, Tamara Wright on October 6, 2005. Jeannette is survived by her daughter, Maria Isabelle Sielawa and her husband Edward of Charlemont; seven grandchildren, Jasmine, Liza, Natasha, Gilbert, Angel, Misty, and Angela; eight great-grandchildren, a brother, Raul Perez of Puerto Rico; a sister, Sally Rivera of New York; three nieces, Sally Ann, Dilsia, and Eileen; and a nephew, Waldy. A funeral home service will be held on Friday, October 11th at 7 p.m. at the Tylunas Funeral Home, 159 Broadway St. Chicopee. Visitation will precede the service on Friday from 4-7 p.m. at the funeral home.
