Jesse Falvey

NORTH CAROLINA-Jessie Fisher Falvey, 89, formerly of Chicopee, passed away peacefully on Tuesday July 18, 2017 in Shallotte, North Carolina. Jessie was born in Springfield, Massachusetts on March 20, 1928 the daughter of the late James D. and Helen (McKechnie) Fisher, who emigrated from Scotland. She was raised and educated in Chicopee Falls, attending local schools. She received her BA from Framingham State College. Jessie was a Kindergarten teacher from 1950 to 1965. She also worked as a substitute teacher and receptionist before retiring in 1992. Jessie enjoyed reading and spending time with her family and was a skilled pianist. She moved to North Carolina in 1992, enjoying her retirement years in Carolina Shores, North Carolina. Her husband, Jeremiah J. Falvey Jr. and a daughter, Leigh Falvey sadly predeceased her. She leaves her son; Jeremiah J. Falvey IV and his wife Lori of Potomac Falls, Va. Her daughter, Kathleen (Dawn) Medlin and her husband Edward of Glen Allen, Va., eight grandchildren and two great grandchildren. There are no calling hours. The family invites you to join them on Thursday, July 27, 2017 directly at Fairview Cemetery (entrance off Abbey Memorial, Chicopee, Ma. 01020) at 10:00 A.M. for the Rites of Committal and Prayers of Commendation for Jessie. Donations in lieu of flowers in Jessie's memory may be made to Lower Cape Fear Hospice, 1414 Physicians Drive,  Wilmington, NC 28401    The family has entrusted Tylunas Funeral Home with arrangements.
