Joan M. Kulig

Joan M. Kulig 1918 ~ 2008   CHICOPEE - Joan M. (Sullivan) Kulig, 89, of Chicopee, passed away peacefully Wednesday, October 1, 2008 at Wingate of South Hadley Care Center.  Born November 14, 1918 in Chicopee, she was a daughter of the late Timothy and Mary (Flanigan) Sullivan.  She married Frank J. Kulig and together they had four children.  Joan was employed for several years as a customer service representative for Dow Jones, and was also a communicant of St. Patrick's Church in Chicopee.  She is survived by her loving children, her son Francis of Chicopee; and daughters Joan Thomasini and her husband, Richard of Chicopee, Mary Jo Weldon and her husband, Edward of Springfield, and Gail Monaghan and her husband, Edward of Baltimore, Maryland.  She will also be missed by her 11 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.  In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Frank.  Funeral services for Joan will be held on Saturday, October 4, 2008 beginning at 8:00 AM from Tylunas Funeral Home, 159 Broadway, with a Liturgy of Christian Burial, to be celebrated at 9:00 AM, in St. Patrick's Church, 319 Broadway, followed by burial in St. Patrick's Cemetery, all in Chicopee.  Friends may call from 4-7 PM Friday October 3rd (TONIGHT) at the funeral home.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Joan's name to Lorraine's Soup Kitchen, 35 Center Street, Chicopee, MA01013.
