John P. Hurst

John P. Hurst, 90, formerly of 14 Oxford Drive, Suffield, CT, died Sunday, April 11, 2021 at Brookdale Assisted Living, South Windsor, CT. John was born in Chicopee Falls, Massachusetts in 1930, he also lived in South Hadley, MA; Lincoln, RI; Wethersfield, CT; Manlius, NY; and Avon, CT before making Suffield, CT his home for over 30 years. He was a 1948 graduate of Chicopee High School before entering the Navy in 1950.  John was a Project Manager for PPG Industries, Commercial Construction Division for 25 years before retiring in 1987. He was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church in Suffield, CT. He was President of the Park View Glen Home Owners Association and Treasurer of the Tired Men's Club of Suffield. He is survived by his wife of 64 years Clairanne E. (Lucas) Hurst, daughter Elizabeth Burke of Liverpool, NY, son John Paul Hurst of Milton, DE; two grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.  Funeral services with a private burial  in Fairview Cemetery, Chicopee will be held at the convenience of the family.  Tylunas Funeral Home, Chicopee has been entrusted with arrangements.
