John L. Koscielski

     John L. Koscielski Jr., a life-long resident of Chicopee, age 83, passed away surrounded by his loving family on August 27. 2025. Born to the late John and Julia Koscielski on November 28, 1941, John attended Chicopee schools before entering in the Army National Guard. Upon discharge from the military, John attended STCC, earning his engineering degree, and began working as a Mechanical Designer at Kollmorgen Corp. for over 30 years.

     John met Marlene (Padden) in 1960, they started their family in 1961and were married that year on June 3. He enjoyed classic games of golf and bowling, watching NASCAR and often had a lottery ticket in his hand. He never went a morning without his coffee and newspaper and kept that routine for nearly 60 years.

     Along with his wife, Marlene, John leaves his two children Glenn Koscielski and his wife Debra of Chicopee, MA and Lisa Calhoun and her husband Ronald of South Hadley, MA. He also leaves 2 granddaughters, Ashley Vescio and her husband Greg and Chelsea Remieres and her husband Mike, and two great-grandchildren Kolson, Braleigh, with a third on the way.
