John R. Powers

Jack left us all too soon on Friday March 24, 2017 at age 55.  A lifetime resident of Chicopee, he leaves to cherish his memory, his children Jessica and Jack Francis.  He was born in Holyoke, MA on September 25, 1961 to Louise (Cuzzone) and George F. Powers. He leaves his siblings, Janet Lynch, Michael & George Powers of Chicopee, and Susan Zielinski of Lakeland, FL; and numerous nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews. He was an exceptional cook, and enjoyed cooking for his family and friends.  Always proud of his Irish heritage, he enjoyed going to the St. Patrick's parade and especially displaying his shamrock tattoo on the back of his neck. He was a true New England sports fan, always rooting for his favorite player and proudly wearing the team jersey on game day. Relatives and friends may call on Friday evening from 5-7 pm at the Tylunas Funeral Home, 159 Broadway Street in Chicopee. Burial will be private at the family's request.
