Joseph Geoffroy 1913 - 2005 Chicopee- Joseph "Leo" Geoffroy, 91, Ascended into the Journey of Life Eternal, Tuesday, June 7,2005 , at Mercy Medical Center. He was last employed and retired from Breck Shampoo, West Springfield. ?Leo? is survived by four devoted brothers, Armand Geoffroy, Edmond Geoffroy, Albert Geoffroy all of Chicopee, and Raymond Geoffroy of Springfield, four devoted sisters, Lillian Messier, Lena Connor, Cecile Benard, and Rhea Plourde all of Chicopee, and many cherished nieces, nephews, and cousins. Born in Chicopee, he was a son of the late Hercules and Lucia (Babineau) Geoffroy, and was a life long resident. During World War II, he faithfully served in the United States Army, with the 95th Cavalry, and valiantly participated in the Battle of the Bulge. He was also a parishioner of St. George Church, Chicopee. Funeral services will be held on Friday (June 10th,2005) , beginning at 8:30 AM, from the Tylunas Funeral Home, 159 Broadway, Chicopee, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial, celebrated, at 9:30 AM in St. George Church, 7 Belcher St., Chicopee. Burial with military honor will follow in the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Agawam. Calling hours will take place on Thursday (June 9th, 2005) from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Memorial contributions can be made in Leo's memory to a charity of the donor's choice.
