Judith Arlene (Murphy) Carner, 76, daughter of the late Arlene D. McDonald and Michael J. Murphy, passed away in the loving company of her husband on December 22th 2021 in Daytona Beach, Fl., where she spent her winters as a snow bird. Judy was a graduate of Baystate's Respiratory Therapy program and spent many years working with the elderly and Dementia population. She was an avid crafter and florist throughout her lifetime. Her innate ability to party plan and host, showed through the beautiful functions she created often for her family and friends. Travel and shopping were among some of her favorite leisure activities. Judy is survived by her devoted husband, James (Jim) R. Carner, and her three sons; Richard Rivet and wife Shirley Uggiano of Chicopee, Dennis Rivet of South Hadley, and Ronald Rivet and partner Mary Fitzemeyer of Westfield. Judith will also be deeply missed by her grandchildren; Sarah Rivet (Kyle) of Ludlow, Jessica Rivet (Colin) of Dracut, Benjamin Rivet (Jessie) of Hampden, Samantha Murphy of South Hadley, and Ronald C. Rivet, Jr. (Ashley) of Ludlow, along with 8 adoring great-grandchildren. Judy was incredibly proud and devoted to her large family. She leaves behind her seven siblings; Marilyn Blanchard, Michael Murphy, Sharon Laird (Joe Emma), Gary Geanacopoulos (Jimmy Marie), Thomas Geanacopoulos (Patt), Deborah Geanacopoulos (Christopher Deady), Mark Geanacopoulos (Patricia), and many nieces and nephews. Judith was predeceased by her two brothers-in-law, Joseph Blanchard and Roger Laird. As a cherished wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and dear friend, she touched the hearts of every person that had the pleasure of knowing her and sharing this life with her. Judy's strong and vibrant light will continue to shine through those she impressed upon so greatly with unconditional love. Family and friends will gather to remember Judith on Sunday, January 2, 2022 from 2:00 to 4:00 P.M. at TYLUNAS FUNERAL HOME, 159 Broadway St., Chicopee.
