Kathleen V. Johnson

CHICOPEE- Kathleen "Kathy" V. (Deforge) Johnson, 61, a lifelong Chicopee resident, entered into eternal rest with her loving and devoted family by her side on Sunday, May 1, 2011 at the home of her brother Edward and sister-in-law and Jeanne in Russell. She was born in Holyoke on July 31, 1949, a daughter of Gertrude (Fay) Deforge of Chicopee and the late Edward Deforge Sr., who entered into eternal rest in 2001. Kathy was a supervisor and a volunteer for the Food Bank at Lorraine's Kitchen in Chicopee, and had worked prior as the assistant cook at the Belchertown Senior Center. Besides her mother, Kathy is survived by three children, Krystal Johnson, Wayne M. Cutchins Jr. and Laura L. Ashley ; four grandchildren, Kayla, Erika, and Joshua Ashley and Alexis Deforge; five siblings, Linda Renaud, Edward Deforge Jr. and his wife Jeanne, Jacqueline Grimshaw and her husband John, David Deforge, and John Deforge; several nieces and nephews; and last but not least her soul mate Christopher Johnson; A memorial service for Kathy will be held on Thursday, May 5th at 1 p.m. in The Basilica of St. Stanislaus, 566 Front St., Chicopee. Burial will be private and there are no visiting hours.
