Kathleen M. Stevens

SPRINGFIELD - Kathleen M. (Sheehan) Stevens, 92, of Springfield, entered into eternal life on Friday, March 31, 2011 in the loving presence of her family at Heritage Hall North, Agawam.  Born in Holyoke and a long time Springfield resident, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Catherine (Feeney) Sheehan.  She was a graduate of Sacred Heart High School, Holyoke and Bay Path College.  Kathleen was a bookkeeper for over (30) years for Precision Pattern of Springfield.  She enjoyed traveling and going on cruises.  She loved to cook and bake and she was known to her husband's co-workers as the "cake lady." Kathleen was a communicant of Mary, Mother of Hope Church East Springfield.  She was predeceased by her son, Frank N. Stevens, Jr. and by her brothers, Bernard and Thomas Sheehan.  She  Leaves her husband of (70) years, Frank N. Stevens, (2) daughters, Kathryn Patterson and her husband, Jack of Agawam, Betty Stagnaro and her husband, Frank of Springfield; her daughter-in-law, Sandra Stevens of Holyoke, a sister, Veronica Donohue of Springfield; (9) grandchildren, (16) great grandchildren and (5) great great grandchildren.  Funeral services will be held at the Tylunas Funeral Home, 159 Broadway, Chicopee, on Monday, April 4, 2011 at 9 a.m., followed by the Liturgy of Christian Burial in Mary, Mother of Hope Church, East Springfield, at 10 a.m.  Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Holyoke.  The family will receive relatives and friends at a gathering to be held at the Tylunas Funeral Home on Sunday, April 3, 2011 from 4 to 7 p.m.  Memorial contributions in Kathleen's memory may be made to the Alzheimer's Association MA/NH Chapter, 264 Cottage Street, Springfield, MA  01104.
