Kenneth E. Vickery, 92, of Chicopee passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 17, 2022 at his home. Ken was born in Springfield on Feb. 11, 1930, a son of the late George and Mabel (Banning) Vickery. He was educated in local schools and had resided in Chicopee for most of his life. Ken worked for Moore Drop Forge in the Heat treatment department over 30 years before his retirement. Ken was a former member of the Moose Lodge in Chicopee where he was active in his younger years. Ken was a big believer in recycling and loved collecting returnables, the city of Chicopee seldom saw an empty can on the ground before Ken picked it up, keeping the city a little bit brighter in return. In addition to his parents, Ken was sadly predeceased by a daughter, Michelle Walker. Ken leaves his loving daughter, Rose Ann Green and her husband Joe. His grandchildren; John Woods (Dawn), Joseph Green Jr. (Erin), Rebecca Schumaker (Kyle) and Michael Green and four great grandchildren; Riley, Cassidy, Sarah, Jonathan. FOLLOWED BY A SERVICE OF REMEMBRANCE AT THE FUNERAL HOME AT 11:00 A.M. Ken's ashes will be interred in a private family service at a later date.
