Kym L Peters

January 6, 1957 — February 8, 2025

Kymmie, our wonderful, loving, and caring sister, sister-in-law, aunt, and great aunt died tragically in a fire on February 8, 2025. Kym was born on January 6, 1957, the third child of Irene and Edward Kamik. She and her husband Michael (Mickey) Peters would have celebrated their 45th wedding anniversary on February 16, 2025. Kym’s husband Mickey also died in that fire.
Kym loved to dance since her first dance lesson at 4 years old. She was the co-captain of her Chicopee High School cheerleading team (1974-75). Kym enjoyed watching sports in the comfort of her home, at family gatherings and even at Foxboro in the cold. For several years she played in a Women’s Volleyball League, she loved golfing with her family and was an excellent pool player. Kym gave as much energy and enthusiasm to her work as an accountant as she did to sports. She loved spreadsheets and solving accounting issues. She loved to laugh and tell stories. Mostly though, she loved her family with her whole heart.
Kym was predeceased by her parents. She leaves her sister Kyla and husband Dennis Daigneault and sister Lynda Kamik and husband Daniel Margolis. Aunty Kymmie will be greatly missed by her nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews.
Burial will be private. There will be a Celebration of Kym’s Life later this year.
Please consider a donation in Kym’s memory to Prospect Meadow Farm,103a Prospect St., Hatfield, MA 01038 or to Dakin Humane Society, POBox 6307, Springfield, MA 01101. Prospect Meadow Farm is a working farm providing meaningful employment for individuals with developmental disabilities, autism, and mental health challenges. Dakin provides compassionate services to animals in need. Both causes were in Kym’s heart.
Please hug your family often – we do, and it has given us many happy memories to hold on to at this sad time.
The Tylunas Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements. Please visit tylunasfuneralhome.com to leave remembrances and words of sympathy for the family.
