Leo J. Sicard 1930-2009 Leo J. Sicard, 79, of Chicopee, passed away in the loving presence of his family on Friday, November 6, 2009. Born in Holyoke, he was the son of the late William and Helen (Goshea) Sicard. He was a retired yard foreman for the City of Chicopee Department of Public Works and was a member of Faith United Methodist Church in Chicopee. Leo was an Army veteran of the Korean War. An ammunition supply specialist he served with the 437th Ordinance Ammunition Co. He was a member of the former American Legion Post #353 of Willimansett. Leo is survived by his wife of (59) years, Gertrude M. (Tardy) Sicard; (2) sons, Bruce Sicard and wife Sue of Holyoke, Richard Sicard and wife Julie of Jefferson, GA; (2) daughters, Elizabeth Theroux and husband Lou of Chicopee, Judith P. Tremblay and husband Robert of Chicopee; a brother, Nelson Sicard of West Springfield; (2) sisters, Rita Pikul of Holyoke, June Smith of Pennsylvania; (8) grandchildren; Melissa, Daniel, Nicholas, Valerie, Ryan, Rebecca Lynn, Rebecca Lee and Jimmy. Leo was predeceased his daughter, Nancy M. Sicard. Funeral services will be held at the Tylunas Funeral Home 159 Broadway, Chicopee on Friday, November 13, 2009 at 10 a.m. A visiting hour will be held on Friday from 9 a.m. until the time of service. Committal prayers and Military Honors will follow at Forestdale Cemetery, Holyoke.
