Leona M. Dupont                                                          1921-2007   Chicopee- Leona M. (Bergeron) Dupont, 85, a long time Chicopee resident, entered into eternal rest on Thursday March 29, 2007 in the Jewish Nursing Home in Longmeadow. She was born in Holyoke on April 27, 1921 a daughter of the late Aimee and Albertine (Gagne) Bergeron. Leona was a communicant of St. George Church in Chicopee. She graduated from Notre Dame Academy in Canada and Bay Path College. Leona was a secretary at Ampad in Holyoke and retired in 1986. She leaves to treasure her memory her sons, Edward F. and his wife Mary Lou of Holyoke, and Richard and his wife Amy of Downington, PA; a sister, Rena Downing of Holyoke; six grandchildren, Michelle Biela, Michael Dupont, Michael Hague, Susan Pierce, Brian Dupont, and Carrie Dupont; twelve great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Leona's family would like to thank the staff of C-2 at the Jewish Nursing Home for the loving and compassionate care they gave to Leona. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday April 3rd beginning at 9 a.m. from the Tylunas Funeral Home, 159 Broadway St., with a Liturgy of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10 a.m. in St. George Church, 7 Belcher St., both in Chicopee. Burial with Rites of Committal will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery, Lyman St., South Hadley.
