Lillian P. Martineau

Lillian P. Martineau, 98, of Woodcrest Circle, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by family on Thursday, May 27, 2021 after a brief illness. "Lulu" as family and friends knew her, was born in Springfield on September 29, 1922, a daughter to the late Raymond H. Ouimette and Emily R. (Thivierge)  Ouimette. She was raised and educated in Chicopee and attended local schools. Lillian married John A. Martineau and they settled in Chicopee to begin their family. Mr. Martineau was a highly decorated Lt. Colonel who served in WW II, Korea and Vietnam. Lillian enjoyed gardening, camping with the family, knitting, puzzles and especially playing canasta. She was a devoted catholic and a communicant of Ste. Rose de Lima Church in Aldenville. Lillian leaves her loving family; two sons, John A. Jr. of Deland, FLA. and Keith A. Martineau and his wife Donna of Chicopee Falls; two daughters, Sheila E. Spring of Chicopee and Paula M. Martineau and her wife, Judy Berthiaume of Rochdale, MA. Her dear sister in law, Doris Ouimette, nine grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her siblings; Richard Ouimette, Rita Dumont and Esther Sagan.

At Lillian's request all services will be private with interment in St. Patrick's Cemetery with her beloved husband. A Celebration of Lillian's life will be held at a later date.

Memorial contributions may be made to Ste. Rose de Lima Church, 600 Grattan St., Aldenville, MA 01020, the American Cancer Society or the Alzheimer's Association.
