Lillian J. Moggio

Lillian J. Moggio 1918-2006 Springfield - Lillian J. Moggio, 88, of Chicopee, passed away on Wednesday, August 9, 2006 at Mercy Medical Center after a lengthy illness. She was born in Holyoke on March 15, 1918, the daughter of the late Valentino and Pierina (Lanzone) Maggio. Lillian was a graduate of Chicopee High School, the Elms College, and Boston University where she received her master of Education Degree. She taught mathematics at Chicopee High School and was the Head of the Mathematics Department at Chicopee Comprehensive High School for several years. She was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma. Lillian was an avid reader, enjoyed traveling and toured Mexico, and several Islands of the Caribbean, and for several years toured Europe. She is survived by her loving sister, Ida C. Moggio of Chicopee, and a dear friend of many years, Edward Merrill of Westfield. Lillian's funeral will be held on Saturday at 9:00 A.M from Tylunas Funeral Home, 159 Broadway, Chicopee, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial in St. Patrick's Church, 319 Broadway, Chicopee at 9:30A.M. Rites of committal will follow at St. Patrick's Cemetery. A calling hour will be held from 8:00-9:00 A. M. at the funeral home.
