Lillian C. Walas

Lillian C. Walas 1918-2013 Chicopee- Lillian C. (Ogrodnik) Walas, 94, a lifelong resident of Chicopee, passed away Monday, September 16, 2013 at Willimansett Center West. Born in Chicopee on October 4, 1918 to the late Joseph and Caroline (Sagan) Ogrodnik, Lillian was a 1937 graduate of Chicopee High School and was a parishioner of the former St. Patrick's Church. She was predeceased by her husband Joseph A. Walas on December 27, 2005. Lillian leaves one son, David Walas of Tega Cay, SC; three daughters, Carolyn Libbey of Lewiston, ME, Mary Lou Hatch of Granby, and Christina Walas of Chicopee; and six grandchildren.  She was also predeceased by her brother Joseph Ogrodnik and her sister Doris Alden. A funeral home service will be held at 11am on Thursday, September 19, 2013 from the Tylunas Funeral Home, 159 Broadway followed by the burial in St. Patrick's Cemetery, Fuller Road, both in Chicopee. Calling hours will precede the service from 10am-11am.
