Lois Ann Allen

Lois Ann (Luppi) Allen, 84, of 20 Crescent Street in Granby passed away on Wednesday, July 12, 2017, at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield after a brief illness.  Lois was born in Springfield on October 27, 1932, the daughter of the late Henry and Catherine (Leary) Luppi. She was raised and educated in Springfield, graduating from Cathedral High School. Lois furthered her education, graduating from Springfield Technical Community College with a Degree in Nursing. She joined  Baystate Medical Center and worked as a Registered Nurse for 45 years before her retirement. Lois was a longtime communicant of St. Patrick's Church here in Chicopee and especially enjoyed traveling. She was sadly predeceased by her husband, James R. Allen and her son, James R. Allen Jr. as well as a sister, Mary Barrett. Lois leaves her daughter; Mary Gabberty and her husband Glenn of St. James, NY and her son, Glenn Allen of Chicopee, five grandchildren and five great grandchildren. She also leaves her siblings; Joseph Luppi of Brewster, David Luppi and his wife Theresa of Chicopee and Carol Pino and her husband Paul of Belchertown as well as several nieces and nephews. There are no calling hours. The family invites you to join them on Thursday (July 20, 2017) directly at St. Patrick's RC Church, 319 Broadway St., Chicopee at 11 A.M. to celebrate the Liturgy of Christian Burial for Lois with Fr. Dariusz Wudarksi, Celebrant. Interment of her ashes will immediately follow the Mass in St. Patrick's Cemetery, Chicopee. Donations in Lois Luppi Allen's memory may be made to the Melanoma Research Foundation, 1411 K Street, NW Suite 800, Washington, DC.  The family has entrusted Tylunas Funeral Home with arrangements.
