Lorena Robichaud

November 17, 1916 — March 15, 2003

Lorena Nelson Robichaud Chicopee - Lorena "Bunny" Robichaud - passed peacefully Saturday at Baystate Medical Center with her beloved family by her side. Born in Chicopee Falls the daughter of the late Charles and Amelia (Perreault) Forant. She attended Chicopee Schools and lived in the area all her life. Bunny lived a full life by being an active member of Our Lady of Hope Church and being involved in the Ladies guild. She was a teachers aide in the Springfield Schools systems as well as a cake decorator for many years. She was a past member of the International Cake Exploration Society. Some may remember Bunny, for her wedding cakes that touched so many lives. She also involved in the Girl Scout's as a leader for numerous years. Bunny loved to travel with her husband and friends and spent winters in New Smyrna Beach, FL. She loved to play cards especially with her family and her dear friend Rocky. Her first husband, Ernest Nelson, predeceased her. She remarried in 1946 to her husband of 56 years Raymond "Roby" Robichaud of Chicopee. She is survived by her four children David Nelson of Windsor, CT; Nancy Phillips of Springfield; Janet Benard of Chicopee and Linda Robichaud-Lak and her husband Joseph of Chicopee. Beloved grandmother of ten: David, Jr., Eric, Karen, Kevin, Kristin, Rob, Lori, Joseph, Ann Marie and Carol. Loving great-grandmother to eight, Matthew, Michael, Scott, Nathan, Jessie, Bobby, Cameron, and Sydney. A brother-in-law James Cummings of Springfield as well as several nieces and nephews also survive her. She also leaves Sadie, her beloved black lab. She touched many lives and inspired all that knew her. She will be sadly missed and loved always. A calling hour will begin 8:30am Wednesday Morning at the Tylunas Funeral Home, 159 Broadway, Chicopee. Mass at 10am in Our Lady of Hope Church. Burial will follow in St. Rose De Lima Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Our Lady of Hope School 474 Armory St. Springfield, MA. 01104 or to the Chicopee V.N.A. 152 Center St. PO BOX 37 Chicopee, MA. 01014-0037.
