Loretta F. Plouffe 1927-2007 Chicopee- Loretta Florida (Crete) Plouffe,80,Ascended into the Journey of Everlasting Life, May 5, 2007 at Baystate Medical Center, in the care and comfort of her devoted family following a 3 year courageous battle with A.L.S. Loretta was born in Holyoke, on February 25,1927 daughter of the late Romeo and Clerinda (LaChapelle) Crete. A resident of Chicopee , she also wintered since 1991 in Zephyr Hills, Florida. Loretta was employed by Spaulding Sporting Goods, Chicopee retiring in 1994. She was a member of the A.F.L.C.I.O. She was predeceased by her devoted husband, of 55 years, Francis H. Plouffe Sr. on December 1, 2000. Loretta leaves to forever cherish her memory her loving children, Francis "Frank" H. Plouffe Jr. of Chicopee, Maureen Malke and her husband, Steve, of Chicopee's Fairview section, Wayne Plouffe and his wife, Judy of Plant City, Florida, Karen Gendron and her husband, Gary of Chicopee, Debra Piquette and her husband, David of Belchertown; 11 grandchildren, Steven Malke and his wife, Michelle, Kelli Malke, Gary Gendron, Kimberly and her husband, Pedro Monteiro, Christopher Plouffe and his wife, Candace, Ryan Piquette, Aaron Plouffe and his fiancé, Anna Isley, Tony Pippin and his wife, Aimee , Whitney Pippin, Branden Piquette, Justin Piquette; 10 great grandchildren, Leigh-Ann Malke, Matthew Malke, Brandon Gendron, Skylar Plouffe, Cambrie Piquette, Connor Malke, Bailey Monteiro, Maya Monteiro, Karlie Monteiro, and Caroline Plouffe, several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Loretta is also survived by her "Third Son", Tom Kelly of Long Island, N.Y., a dear devoted friend, Lorraine Lavigne of Chicopee and her daughter, Barbara Cosenzi of Southwick. Loretta's family wishes to thank the following people for their comfort, love ,and support during her illness: Nurses at Baystate Medical Center 3rd floor Oncology, Baystate Visiting Nurses Home Health Aids and Home Health Makers, Baystate Medical Center Emergency Room Staff, Dr. Victoria Noble of Baystate Medical Center South Hadley Group, and to Dr. Kamil Arman ,Neurologist. Loretta's funeral ceremonies will begin on Wednesday at 11:30 AM from the Tylunas Funeral Home, 159 Broadway, Chicopee, followed by a Concelebrated Liturgy of Christian Burial at 1:00 PM in St. Theresa's Church, 9 East Parkview Drive, South Hadley. Loretta will be laid to rest in the Notre Dame Cemetery, South Hadley. Calling hours will take place in the funeral home on Tuesday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 - 9:00.
