Lorraine Mary Seger

Lorraine M. Seger 1924-2010 SPRINGFIELD - Lorraine M. (Thompson) Seger, 86, of Springfield passed away on Tuesday, August 17, 2010.  The beloved family of Lorraine celebrates her life.  Born in Chicopee Falls on March 19, 1924, she was the oldest of six children born to Herbert and Pauline (Szelag) Thompson.  Lorraine graduated from Chicopee High School in 1942 and married Staff Sgt. Charles "Zeke" Seger in 1943.  Lorraine's husband, parents, sister, Marlene and life-long friend Madelyn Deady greeted her glorious arrival into Our Lord's Kingdom.  Those left to cherish her memory are her daughter Barbara Saunders, her husband Michael and adored granddaughter Allison all of Feeding Hills; son Richard Seger of Ludlow, VT; daughter Patricia Sanchez and her husband Joe of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; sister Theresa Salvador and her husband Frank of Ludlow; brother Leo Thompson of Ludlow; sister Eva Kukla of Maryland and brother Wilfred Thompson and his wife Cecile of Florida.  Lorraine and her family will always be grateful for the loving care she received from Carmen, Linda, Debbie, Jeannie and Phylicia, during her illness.  Funeral services will be held on Thursday, August 26, 2010 from the Tylunas Funeral Home 159 Broadway, Chicopee at 9:00 a.m., followed by the Liturgy of Christian Burial in Mary, Mother of Hope Church 840 Page Blvd., East Springfield at 10 a.m.  Burial will follow in St. Patrick's Cemetery, Chicopee.  Calling hours will be held at the Tylunas Funeral Home on Wednesday, August 25, 2010 from 4 to 8 p.m
