Lorraine D. Sowa

GRANBY-Lorraine D. (Alconis) Cronin-Sowa, 93, of Granby passed away peacefully surrounded by her daughters on Saturday, July 30, 2022. She had proudly resided in Holyoke for most of her life before moving to Granby to be closer to her family. Lorraine gave back to the Holyoke community in many ways, including numerous acts of volunteerism which ranged from knitting hats and mittens for the local shelters and hospitals, to volunteering at Holyoke Medical Center's Information Desk. Lorraine worked for many years as an Underwriter for Prudential Insurance. Lorraine was a longtime member of the Granby Senior Center where she was very active. Lorraine was predeceased by her husband, Henry Sowa. She leaves her four loving daughters; Carol P. (Cronin) Petell, Linda Cronin Unwin, Susan Cronin and Janis McElligot, her seven cherished grandchildren and eleven cherished great grandchildren. Per Lorraine's request, her ashes will be joined with Henry's where their love for the sun and sand can be shared with family and friends as they are sent out to the sea for eternity.
