Lucentia "Laurie" Cote-Forbes

CHICOPEE-Laurentia A. "Baby Doll" (Cote) Forbes, 80 of Lynwood Drive in Chicopee passed peacefully on Friday September, 28, 2018 at her home surrounded by family. Laurie was born in Chicopee on April 24, 1938 a daughter of Leo & Nelida (Dallaire) Cote. She was raised in Chicopee, educated in Catholic Schools and graduated from High School. Laurie worked for many years in the Health Field and especially enjoyed her time as a Supervisor with St. Joseph's Hospital in Arizona. Laurie loved gardening, especially beautiful flowers. She enjoyed traveling with her husband, Ron, and the occasional trips to the Casino were always a highlight. Her beloved husband, Ronald A. Forbes passed away in 2012 and a son, John Newfield in 2007. She will be remembered and greatly missed by her family, especially her son and daughter, Suzanne and Bret who enjoyed a renewed relationship these past few years. She leaves her beloved children; Carol Gianchetti and Suzanne Casey both of Southampton, Marie Cohn of Las Vegas, NV and Bret R. Newfield of Holyoke. Her four precious grandchildren; Gary Jr., Kristen, April & Ashley. Her devoted siblings; Louis Cote of Chicopee, Carol Lussier of Georgia and Cozette Brodeur of Easthampton, many nieces and nephews including a beloved great niece who was such a joy in her life, Jade. Laurie is also survived by her former husband, Edward Newfield of Prescott, AZ.  She also leaves her beloved and constant companion; Bambi Rose. At Laurie's request she will be interred at a Private Ceremony at the Massachusetts Veterans Cemetery in Agawam. Donations in her memory may be made to Holyoke Hospice Life Care, 575 Beech Street, Holyoke, Mass. Laurie's Services have been entrusted to Tylunas Funeral Home, Chicopee.
