Lyman U. Frain, Jr. 1st Lt. Ret. USAF 1925-2005 CHICOPEE- Lyman U. Frain Jr., 79, a 28-year Chicopee resident, passed away at home on Tuesday February 1, 2005. He was born in Parkersford, PA on February 14, 1925, the son of the late Lyman U. and Mabel S. (Wall) Frain Sr. Lyman was a U.S. Air Force veteran, serving as a pilot in WW II, the Korean and Vietnam Conflicts, retiring as a 1st Lieutenant on February 1, 1995 at Westover Air Reserve Base in Chicopee. He was a past member of the Quiet Birdmen. Lyman is survived by his wife, Lynn (Evatt) Frain, two sons, Matthew J. Frain of Boston, and Michael A. Tynan of Virginia Beach, VA, a daughter, Erica L. Flynn and her husband Kevin of Chicopee, a brother, Donald B. Frain and his wife Lorraine of Mountain View, CA, three granddaughters, Kim, Kelly, and Emily, and a great-granddaughter, Kiera.
