Marcelle Agnes Parent

Marcelle Agnes Parent, age 93, passed away July 29, 2024. Born in Chicopee on March 4, 1931, she was one of ten children of the late Louis J. and Alda (Surprenant) Parent. After high school, Marcy took a radiology course at Mercy. She moved to New York, obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree from Fordham University, and worked for many years as an x-ray technician. Marcy was an usher at the Church of St. Ignatius Loyola and was very involved in the choir. After living in New York for 66 years, Marcy returned to Western Mass. Marcelle is predeceased by her parents and her siblings: Theresa Soucy, Juliette Quenneville, Claire Landry, Leona Rivest, Sr. Alice Parent, Estelle Kindness, Cecile Loughman, and John L. Parent. She is survived by her brother Gerard G. Parent of Ludlow, and many nieces and nephews. A graveside service and Rites of Committal will be held Friday, August 2, 2024, at 2:00 PM at Notre Dame Cemetery at 63 Lyman St., South Hadley.
