Margaret M. Robbins 1927-2006 SPRINGFIELD- Margaret "Peggy" M. (McDonald) Robbins, after a valiant battle with cancer, passed away on Friday October 20, 2006 with her family by her side. Peggy was born in Holyoke to Alice (Hickson) McDonald and Clyde McDonald. Peggy lived her entire life in Springfield, attending Springfield schools, and graduating from the High School of Commerce. Peggy enjoyed crocheting and sewing, but her passion was raising her family with love and laughter. Peggy also had unconditional love for all children, and would welcome all neighborhood children into her home. She was a communicant of Our Lady of Hope Church in Springfield. Peggy leaves behind her loving husband of 58 years, Ernest "Bud" Robbins; two sons, Kenneth Robbins and his wife Nancy, and Kevin Robbins and his wife Lori; and a daughter, Nancy Robbins, all of Springfield. Peggy was predeceased by a son, Stephen Robbins. Peggy also leaves two sisters, Alice Billips of Chicopee, and Elaine Glassford of Michigan; and a brother, Edward McDonald and his wife Cil of Springfield. She was also predeceased by a brother, Clyde McDonald II. Peggy also leaves behind her six devoted and cherished grandchildren, Jonathan and his wife Melissa, Patrick, Kathleen, Kerry Ann, Kady, and Kristi, and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday October 24th, beginning at 8:45 a.m. from the Tylunas Funeral Home, 159 Broadway, Chicopee, with a Liturgy of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10 a.m. in Our Lady of Hope Church, 577 Carew St., Springfield, with Rites of Committal to follow in St. Michael?s Cemetery, 1601 State St., Springfield. Peggy's family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday evening, October 23rd from 4-7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be to Mercy Hospice, 1236 Main St., Holyoke, MA 01040.
