Marguerite M. Roux

Marguerite Roux1931-2015Chicopee- Marguerite (Bell) Roux, 84, of Chicopee, passed away Thursday, November 26, 2015 at Baystate Medical Center. Born in Springfield on October 21, 1931 she was a daughter of the late John and Sarah (Braden) Bell. Marguerite was a communicant of the former St. Patrick's Church in Chicopee. She worked for the Holyoke Shirt Factory and in the jewelry department at Steiger's Department Store. Marguerite and her loving husband of 62 years, Eugene D. Roux, enjoyed travelling together, especially to their timeshare in Florida and to the Cape. Marguerite also enjoyed reading and shopping. She loved having family over and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren, whom she adored. Along with her husband, Marguerite leaves her granddaughter, more often referred to as "daughter", Collen DeGeorge and her husband Frank of Feeding Hills; her grandson Eugene Roux III and his wife Melissa of Wilbraham; three great-grandchildren, Taylor Marie and Emily Rose DeGeorge, and Grayson Eugene Roux; her brother William Bell and his wife Sandy of Springfield; her three sisters, Sara Jane Craven of Feeding Hills, Joan Williams and her husband Paul of SC, and Mary Ellen Cambio and her husband Dave of Ludlow;  and many brother and sister-in-laws, nieces, and nephews. Marguerite was predeceased by her two sons, Eugene D. Roux, Jr. in 1981, and Raymond A. Roux in 2004; her two brothers, Robert and Jackie Bell; her sister-in-law, Claudia Bell; and her brother-in-law, Jimmy Craven. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 2, 2015 at 9am at Tylunas Funeral Home, 159 Broadway, Chicopee with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10am in St. Patrick's Church, 319 Broadway, Chicopee. Rites of Committal will follow in St. Patrick's Cemetery, Fuller Road in Chicopee. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, December 1st from 4-7pm.
