Marielle M. (Lanoie) Labrecque Kwiatkowski, or “Mama” as family and friends called her, passed quietly in Chicopee on Monday, May 22, 2023 with her children at her side. Madame Kwiatkowski was born in Saint-Hugues, Quebec, Canada on April 18, 1923, a daughter of the late Dorila and Lea (Vanasse) Lanoie. Marielle had just celebrated her 100th birthday with close family and friends and enjoyed marking the passing of a century and a month. She was raised and educated in Saint-Hugues, where she met and married Theodore “Teddy” Labrecque. She emigrated to the United States after marriage and settled in Aldenville where they began their family. Marielle was an expert seamstress and custom clothier. She also made custom handbags and was known as “The Pocket Book Lady”. Teddy passed away in 1958. Marielle, after 10 years a widow, met Henry Kwiatkowski also a widower, at the Widow and Widowers Club in Chicopee. They were married on April 18, 1968 at Saint Rose de Lima Church in Aldenville and celebrated 40 years of love, family and cherished memories together. Marielle and Henry enjoyed many Saturday evenings going to area establishments for an evening of dancing and socializing with their friends. They also loved playing cards and going fishing together. Henry passed away on April 13, 2008 as well as her siblings; Rolande, Alphonse-Marie, Jean-Louis, Cecile and Bernard. She leaves her beloved and devoted children; Jacques T. Labrecque of Springfield and Anne M. Labrecque of Chicopee, Paul H. Kwiatkowski of Belchertown, and David J. Kwiatkowski and his wife, Jacqueline of Ohio and her cherished grandchildren; Matthew and Julia Kwiatkowski. She leaves her last sibling; Clement Lanoie of St. Hyacinth, Que. Canada and many, many nieces and nephews.

FROM TYLUNAS FUNERAL HOME WITH A MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL AT 12 NOON AT SAINT ROSE DE LIMA CHURCH, 600 GRATTAN ST., CHICOPEE.
Burial will follow in Ste Rose de Lima Cemetery, 49 Olsen St., Aldenville.
