Marion Schreiber

July 7, 1937 — February 6, 2022

Marion J. Schreiber, 84, of Chicopee passed away peacefully at her home on Sunday, February 6, 2022 surrounded by her family. Marion was born in Holyoke, a daughter to Anthony & Anna (Malek) LaBonte on July 7, 1937. She was raised and educated in Holyoke and attended public schools. Early in her life she was a gymnast with the Holyoke Turnverein where she met the love of her life. Marion married Robert Schreiber and they settled in Chicopee to raise their family. Marion worked for Spaulding Enterprises, National Blank Book and later Birch Manor Nursing Home in Chicopee. The gift of motherhood and nurturing was instilled in her nature. Marion over the years fostered many children and later in life, as her own family grew, served as babysitter for her grandchildren and one great grandson. She loved doting on them, spoiling them and making sure they were always cared for. Marion and Robert were longtime communicants of St. Anne's Church in Fairview. She was a member of The Ladies Guild and sang in the church choir. Marion's beloved husband of 61 years, Robert Schreiber passed away on February 22, 2021.She was also predeceased by a sister, Elaine Hebert. Marion leaves her children; Robert Schreiber II and his wife Susan of Chicopee, Carl Schreiber and his wife Diane of Holyoke, William Schreiber of Naples, Florida and Kenneth Schreiber and his wife Carrie of Chicopee. A sister, Diane West of Westfield. Her six cherished grandchildren and one great grandson.

THE FAMILY INVITES YOU TO JOIN THEM ON THURSDAY, FEB. 10, 2022 AT 10:00 A.M. DIRECTLY AT ST. ANNE'S CHURCH, 30 COLLEGE ST., CHICOPEE TO CELEBRATE THE LITURGY OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL FOR MARION. Burial services will be private at the convenience of the family. Donations in Marion's memory may be made to Alzheimer's Association, 309 Waverley Oaks Rd, Waltham, MA. 02452
