Marion Harriet Sydorak

Marion Harriet 1923-2005 Chicopee - Marion Harriet (Gilpatrick) Sydorak, 81, a longtime resident of Chicopee, passed away Saturday at a local nursing home.  Born July 13, 1923 in Springfield to the late Lerman and Mary (McCray) Gilpatrick, she was a 1941 graduate of the Technical High School.  Marion worked for Community Savings Bank as a teller, W.T. Grant Co and Popular Super Markets as a cashier at both.  She was a member of the New Hope United Methodist Church.  She was predeceased by her husband, Michael Sydorak in 1976.  She is survived by her beloved children, Michael Sydorak, James Sydorak, Debbie Dowd, Catherine Allen, and Sandra Naismith, all of Chicopee, 9 cherished grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.  She also leaves her caring sister, Phyllis McSwain of Chicopee.  The funeral will be held Tuesday morning at 10a.m. at the Tylunas Funeral Home, 159 Broadway St. Chicopee, with the burial to follow in Fairview Cemetery.  The family will receive friends Monday from 2-4 and 7-9p.m.  Donations may be made in memory of Marion to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation International, 120 Wall Street, 19th Floor, New York, New York 10005.
