Mary I. Kelley

October 22, 1926 — November 8, 2015

Mary (Young) Kelley, 89, of Chicopee passed peacefully on Sunday, November 8th at the Life Care Center of Auburn, MA with her family by her side. Born on October 22, 1926 in Abington, MA to Irving Young and Helen Josephine Melaniff, she was the graduate of the Springfield High School of Commerce Class of 1944. She was employed by John Hancock Life Insurance Company as an office manager until her retirement. Mary loved playing golf, traveling and watching sporting events. She was a communicant of St. Patrick's Church in Chicopee. Mary leaves her children Stephen and his wife Katherine Kelley of Auburn, (Margaret) Kelley Butler and her husband John of Bonita Springs, FL. and step daughter Alyce and her husband Francis Beaudry of West Springfield.  In addition, she leaves her grandchildren - James, Sarah, Michael Kelley, Melissa and Scott Butler and step grandchildren, Kristina Backhaus, William Backhaus, Kenneth Kelley, Robert Kelley, Kathleen Nowak, Matthew Beaudry, Kelley MacDonald and Ellen Juzba. Mrs. Kelley was predeceased by her husband Eugene E. Kelley; sisters Margaret Young, Sarah Fillion, Helen Senecal and brother Irving (Bud) Young; step children Frances Backhaus and Eugene and Paul Kelley. Funeral services are entrusted to the Tylunas Funeral Home of Chicopee. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at the convenience of the family.
