Mary T. Kopy

Mary T. (Restaino) Kopy, 94, of St. James Manor in Springfield passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 9, 2021 at Heritage Hall Nursing Center in Agawam. Mary, daughter of the late Joseph and Elizabeth (Morassi) Restaino was born in Springfield on July 16, 1926. A lifelong resident of Springfield, she graduated from the High School of Commerce and went on to work as the Senior Clerk at Classical High School. Mary was a communicant of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church in Springfield. She enjoyed reading books and completing puzzles. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her beloved husband David Kopy and several siblings; Al Restaino, Alice Kay, Gloria Tuckey and Emma Leinhauser. She leaves her children; David Kopy of Chicopee and Michael Kopy of Florida, three grandchildren, six great grandchildren. She also leaves her dear sister; Teresa O'Connor of Longmeadow as well as many nieces, nephews, and extended family members. At Mary's request all services will be private and she will be laid to rest with the Rites of Catholic Committal alongside her husband in St. Michael's Cemetery, State St. Springfield.
