Mary Landry

Mary B. Landry, 81, a longtime resident of Chicopee passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 4, at Baystate Medical Center.  Mary was born on November 7, 1935, in Easthampton, MA, a daughter of George Henry and Alina Marie (Dion) Lalumiere; she was a longtime resident of Chicopee. Mary was a graduate of Chicopee High School and continued her education at Nursing School. She was a parishioner of St. Rose de Lima Church in Chicopee. Mary was a short order cook for many years at the Fairview Princess and the Princess Diner both formerly in Chicopee. She enjoyed traveling throughout Chicopee to play Bingo with her mother and she was master at the board game Yahtzee and many card games including Canasta. Mary enjoyed her daily scratch tickets and would enjoy her personal time watching any John Wayne movie. She was predeceased by her husband, Herman Landry in 1990 and by her son, Arthur Parent, and by two brothers and two sisters. Mary is survived by her daughters, Mary L. Parent of Chicopee and Alina "Dolly" Morey of Monroe, CT; daughter in law, Lisa Parent of Chicopee; eight grandchildren including, Karen McCormick and her husband, Jeffrey of Chicopee; sixteen great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Family and friends are invited to gather on Thursday, March 9, at 12 noon for Mary's committal service and burial at St. Rose de Lima Cemetery, 49 Olsen St., Chicopee, MA. There are no calling hours. Tylunas funeral home is in charge of the arrangements. ?
