Mary F. Schab1936-2014Chicopee- Mary F. (Cook) Schab, 78, of Chicopee, passed away on Wednesday, November 19, 2014 at the Jewish Nursing Home in Longmeadow. Born in North Adams, MA on March 10, 1936, she was a daughter of the late Harold W. and Sarah (King) Cook.  Mary was a home health aide for Chicopee VNA for 25 years retiring in 1989. She liked playing BINGO and had a love for animals, especially dogs and cats. Mary enjoyed Sunday dinners with her children and grandchildren, whom she loved above all else. She was predeceased by her husband, Walter G. Schab, in 1997 and her siblings, Russell and Donald Cook, Theresa Estes, and Jean Dean. Mary leaves her son Michael Schab and his wife Pamela of Chicopee; two daughters, Barbara Klofas and her husband Michael of East Longmeadow, and Nancy Schab of Chicopee; three grandchildren, Laura, Lindsay, and Jeffrey; and one great-granddaughter Emmie. The family would like to thank the nurses and other caregivers on C1 at Julian J. Leavitt Family Jewish Nursing Home for taking special care of Mary.  A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, November 24, 2014 at 10am at Our Lady of the Elms Chapel, Springfield St, with Rites of Committal to follow in St. Rose de Lima Cemetery, 49 Olsen St, both in Chicopee. Calling hours will be held on Sunday, November 23rd from 4-7pm at Tylunas Funeral Home, 159 Broadway, Chicopee.  Donations may be made to Alzheimer's Disease Association, 264 Cottage St., Springfield, MA 01104 OR Chicopee VNA, 2024 Westover Rd, Chicopee, MA 01022.
