May M. Goonan 1945 - 2006 SPRINGFIELD- May M. (Guild) Goonan, 60, a lifelong resident here was called safely home on Thursday May 11, 2006. May was born in Springfield May 17, 1945, a daughter of the late Earl G. and Grace Matteson Guild. May was employed at Milton Bradley and retired in 2000 after 27 years of service with the company. May was an avid Bingo player and enjoyed her trips to Foxwoods. She also enjoyed knitting, crocheting and traveling to the Bahamas, Canada and New York. She married, John Goonan in 1996 and the couple would have celebrated ten years of devotion in December. In addition to her loving husband, May is survived by her son, Scott Fairbanks and his fiancée Jessica Gagne of Springfield; two brothers, Gordon Guild and his wife Reggie of Chicopee; George Guild and his wife Joann of Louisiana; two grandchildren, Cody Fairbanks and Joshua Heath; many nieces, nephews and grand nieces and nephews. May was predeceased by her two sisters, Virginia and Janet Ann. A funeral service will be held on Monday May 15th at 10 a.m. in the Tylunas Funeral Home 159 Broadway Chicopee, MA 01020. The burial will follow in St. Patrick's Cemetery, Fuller Road in Chicopee. The visiting hours are Sunday from 4-7 p.m. If friends desire, memorial donations in May's name may be made to the American Lung Association of Western Mass 393 Maple St. Spfld, MA 01105.
