Michael "Mike" J. Mason

CHICOPEE- Michael J. "Mike" Mason, 59, of Sunnyside Street passed away peacefully at his home on Friday, May 12, 2017. He was born on July 17, 1957, the son of the late Armand H. and Frances C. (Poudrier) Mason. He was raised and educated in Chicopee, attending local schools and graduated from Chicopee High School in 1975. Mike worked for the former Levine's Market in Chicopee in his youth. He joined Smith & Wesson in Springfield in 1978 and had been employed there ever since. He was currently employed in the Plating & Finishing Dept.  Mike is survived by a sister, Susan M. Sorci and his brother David P. Mason and his wife Wendy, all of Chicopee; two nieces, Laura and Rebecca Sorci; and four nephews, Robert, David, Daniel, and Jeffrey Mason and six great nieces and nephews. His brother, Alan Mason predeceased him in 2015. There are no calling hours. The family invites you to join them on Saturday June 10, 2017 at 11:00 A.M. at the Faith United Methodist Church, 191 Montcalm St., Chicopee for a service for Michael. A memorial luncheon will follow in the Parish hall. Michael's interment in St. Rose de Lima Cemetery in Aldenville will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations in Michael's memory may be made to the charity of one's choice. The Tylunas Funeral Home of Chicopee has been entrusted with arrangements.
