Michael J. "Mike" Phaneuf

SPRINGFIELD- Michael “Mike” Phaneuf, 73, of Springfield passed away on Monday, June 5, 2023. He was born in Springfield, to the late Joseph L. Phaneuf and Anne (Rudek) Phaneuf. He worked for Merit Oil and Hess Corporation in Springfield before his retirement several years ago.

Mike was a kind, generous person who loved spending time with his family and friends. He “ran on coffee” and helping out others. He was a devoted Mason and long-time member of the Melha Shriners.

He leaves behind his beloved wife of 51 years Paula Phaneuf, daughter Stacy Riley, son-in-law Dennis, son Joe Phaneuf, and daughter-in-law Becka, as well as his two grandchildren Devin and Rachel Riley. He also leaves his siblings, James and Thomas Phaneuf, and Judy Callahan and many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his parents Joseph and Anne (Rudek) Phaneuf and his grandson Benjamin.

CALLING HOURS WILL BE MONDAY, JUNE 12, 2023 FROM 10:00 to 12:00 NOON AT TYLUNAS FUNERAL HOME, 159 BROADWAY ST., CHICOPEE WITH A RELIGIOUS SERVICE AT THE FUNERAL HOME AT 12 NOON. Burial will follow in Agawam Center Cemetery, Main St., Agawam. Donations in Mike’s memory can be made to the Shriners Hospital SPFLD UNIT, 516 Carew St., Springfield, MA 01104
