Nelson D. Galarneau

SOUTHAMPTON-Nelson D. Galarneau, 60, of Hillside Meadows Drive and formerly of Chicopee passed away peacefully on Tuesday evening 1/31/2023 at his home in Southampton surrounded by his friends and caregivers. Nelson was born in Springfield, a son of the late Raymond T. and Matilda (Turcotte) Galarneau. Nelson was educated in Chicopee and attended the Sunshine Village Day programs. He was a communicant of the former St. Patrick’s Church in Chicopee. Nelson loved watching tv, especially his favorite shows and listening to music, especially the Beatles, often dancing along. Nelson enjoyed food, no matter what meal was prepared, he enjoyed the comradery of sitting and eating with friends. He leaves his many friends and caregivers in Southampton who were so kind to him, especially the care and love they showed him. He is survived by his siblings; Richard and Lise Galarneau of Florida, Lawrence and Donna Galarneau of Chicopee, Bobby and Sandi Galarneau of Nebo, NC, Michael and Moira Galarneau of Chicopee, Thomas Galarneau of Tuscon, AZ and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister, Barbara Descoteaux and brother, Raymond Galarneau. RELATIVES AND FRIENDS WILL GATHER TO REMEMBER NELSON ON FRIDAY, APRIL 28, 2023, AT TYLUNAS FUNERAL & CREMATION CENTER, 159 BROADWAY ST., CHICOPEE WITH A RELIGIOUS SERVICE AT 10:00 A.M. Interment of his ashes alongside his parents in the family lot will follow in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Fuller Rd. Chicopee.
