Nicholas James Montos

Nicholas J. Montos 1920 - 2004 CHICOPEE--Nicholas J. "Nick" Montos, 84, of Chicopee, died Thursday in a local nursing home.  Born & educated in Chicopee, he was a graduate of Chicopee High School and a life long resident here. Nick in his youth was a member of the Civilian Conservation Corps, and was a former employee at Savage Arms Co. of Westfield, retiring after over 40 years of employment.  Nick was a member of St. Constantine Greek Orthodox Church in Chicopee, a member of the Tigers AC of Chicopee, the Eagles Club, and the American Legion Post 275.  Nick was an Army Veteran of WWII.  Nick leaves his wife of 39 years, the former Edna Bien, daughters Leda Cox of Chicopee, Carol Bernier and her husband Arthur of Chicopee, and Sophie Formaggioni of Feeding Hills.  He leaves a brother Michael J. Montos of Newington, CT, and sisters Christina Lawson of Chicopee and Bessie Labonte of Palmer, 6 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.  He was predeceased by a daughter Barbara Montos in 1964. Funeral Monday, December 13, 2004 at 10 AM from the Tylunas Funeral Home, 159 Broadway, Chicopee, followed by services at 11 AM in St. Constantine Greek Orthodox Church, 30 Grattan St., Chicopee.  Burial in Fairview Cemetery.  Visiting hours Sunday 3-7 P.M.  Contributions to Chicopee Tiger AC, 14 Montgomery St., Chicopee, Ma. 01020
