Patricia Ann Murray

December 6, 1948 — November 9, 2016

Patricia Ann Murray, 67, of Chicopee, passed away November, 9 2016 at home after a long battle with cancer. Patricia ("Patty") was born in Springfield to Robert P. and Doris R. (Reynolds) Murray on December 6, 1948. She was a graduate of the Chicopee High School class of 1966. After high school, Patty worked at Liberty Mutual where she met Maureen Goodrow-a friend who has been by her side ever since. Patty also worked as a head housekeeper at the Plantation Inn for several years before her illness. She loved movies, Ray Donovan, hot dogs, buying things she didn't need, her weekly gossip sessions on the tree belt with Art and Mary, and making people laugh. She was somebody people remembered even if they only met her once. She left an impression on everyone she met with her tiny stature and her huge, one-of-a-kind personality. Patricia is preceded in death by both her parents; her sister Joanne K. (Murray) Moquin; and her loving son Matthew T. Krygowski.Patricia is survived by her loving and dedicated son, Scott P. Krygowski of Chicopee; grandson Brytton Krygowski ("Harry") of Chicopee; sister Robin Tourangeau and brother-in-law Edward of Melbourne Beach, FL; her best friend Maureen Goodrow of Chicopee; the two daughters she never had Lisa Machnacz of Chicopee and Claudia Stavola of Southington, CT; five nephews; close friend Kathleen (Dee) Carter; and her two loyal golden retrievers Bailey and Griffin. She is also survived by Anna Lessin of Chicopee who spent tireless hours to care for Patricia and make her remaining time comfortable and enjoyable.  Patty's last wishes were for a private burial with no funeral or wake.
