Patricia A. Parent (Yemenijian)

Patricia Ann Parent, 88, of Chicopee, MA, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 26, 2023, surrounded by her children. Patricia was born in Springfield on August 11, 1934 to George and Mary (Boyaj) Yemenijian. As an only child, Pat was the light of her parents’ lives. After graduating from Commerce High School in 1953, she studied business at American International College and later earned a master’s degree in education.
Pat married Gerard (Gerry) Parent in 1958. They soon settled in Chicopee to raise their family and share a long and loving life together. Pat started her career as a social worker for the City of Springfield before discovering a passion for teaching. As an elementary school teacher in Chicopee schools for over 35 years, she touched countless young lives. No one, however, benefited more from Pat’s gentle guidance and nurturing love than her own three children.
Pat will best be remembered for her warm smile and infinite kindness. She faced life’s struggles with a strength and optimism that were an inspiration to everyone around her.
Pat is survived by her beloved husband of 65 years, Gerry Parent, and her devoted children: Lisa Falotico, and her husband Robert; Christopher Parent; and Nicole Perrault and her husband, Michael. Pat is also survived by her cherished grandchildren and great grandchildren: Alison Nicolas and her husband Eric, along with their sons, Oliver and Vincent; Corinne Falotico and her fiancé Peter Schlaht; and Harrison Perrault. THE FAMILY WILL RECEIVE FRIENDS AT TYLUNAS FUNERAL & CREMATION CENTER, 159 BROADWAY ST., CHICOPEE, ON WEDNESDAY, MAY 3, 2023 FROM 9:00 TO 11:00 AM WITH A PRAYER SERVICE AT THE FUNERAL HOME AT 11:00 AM. BURIAL OF PATRICIA’S ASHES WILL FOLLOW AT HILLCREST PARK CEMETERY, 895 PARKER ST., SPRINGFIELD. Donations can be made in Patricia’s memory to the American Cancer Society.
