Paul J. Demears

Paul J. Demears, Sr. 1925 - 2011 Chicopee, Paul J. Demears, Sr., 86, formerly of Grape Street, died in Florida on Monday Nov. 14th, in the West Palm Beach Veterans Hospital. Born in Chicopee, son of the late Paul and Margaret (Robitaille) Demears, he lived in Chicopee most of his life until moving to Florida. Paul was a WWII U.S. Navy veteran. He was an Alderman at Large in Chicopee for 29 years and a self-employed scrap metal dealer. He was a member of both the Elks Lodge and Moose Club of Chicopee and was a communicant of St. Rose de Lima Church. Paul leaves four sons, Paul J. Jr. of Chicopee, Wayne J. of South Hadley, and Alen J. and Bruce J. both of Ft. Pierce, FL., two daughters Helen A. Demears and Gail J. Demears both of Ft. Pierce, FL., and several grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, Helen M. Towsley, in 1990. The funeral will be held Saturday, Nov. 19th, at the Tylunas Funeral Home 159 Broadway, Chicopee, at 10 a.m. with a Liturgy of Christian Burial in St. Rose de Lima Church at 11am and burial in Calvary Cemetery all in Chicopee.
