SPRINGFIELD- Paula Phaneuf, 74, of Springfield passed away on Saturday, July 6, 2024. She was born in Glens Falls, to the late Preston Combs and Jean (Place) Combs. She worked for MassMutual in Springfield for several decades in pensions.
Paula was a kind, generous person who loved spending time with her family and friends. She was known to quietly help others with an ear to listen, a quick bit of advice, a personalized gift meant just for them or anything else that she thought they needed. She was also fast on the draw with a good-natured zinger. She loved her family, shopping, and taking care of the neighborhood stray cats. Although she was not a Mason or Shriner, she was the wife to a long-time member and treated those she met as family friends.
She leaves behind her daughter Stacy Riley, son-in-law Dennis, son Joe Phaneuf, and daughter-in-law Becka, as well as her two grandchildren Devin and Rachel Riley. She also leaves her siblings; Brenda Morrissey and Kevin Combs and several nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her husband Michael, her parents, her brother Ronald and her grandson Benjamin Riley.
