Pauline A. Swords 1927-2004 Chicopee- Pauline "Polly" A. (Murdza) Swords, 77, died Sunday August 29, 2004 at Holyoke Medical Center in Holyoke surrounded by her loving family. Born in Chicopee on July 19, 1927 the daughter of the late Wawrziniec and Katarzyna (Milios) Murdza. Mrs. Swords was a life long resident of Chicopee, attended Chicopee schools, and retired from Smith and Wesson in Springfield after 17 years of service. Mrs. Swords was a very giving person and enjoyed flower gardening, camping, the ocean, painting, but most of all loved cooking for her family on Thursday evenings. Her daughter Sheila S. Reno, a grandson, Evan Sabourin, and five brothers predeceased her. Mrs. Swords is survived by her husband of 57-years, Bernard J. Swords of Chicopee, a son Kenneth J. Swords and his fiancée Maria of Chicopee, two daughters, Kathleen Conti and her husband Wayne J. of West Springfield and Patricia A. Sabourin and her husband David of Chicopee, a son-in-law, Edward Reno of Holyoke and a brother, Stanley Murdza and his wife Stasia of Hadley. Three grandchildren, Wayne "Tony" Conti, Matthew Reno, and Alicia Sabourin, and many nieces and nephews also survive Mrs. Swords. Funeral services will gather on Thursday September 2nd at 8:15 a.m. from the Tylunas Funeral Home 159 Broadway, with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. at Holy Name of Jesus Church 33 South St. both in Chicopee, with burial to follow at the Massachusetts Veterans' Memorial Cemetery, 1390 Main St. Agawam. Visiting hours are Wednesday evening September 1st from 5-8 p.m. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Jimmy Fund 1309 Beacon St. Brookline, MA 02446
