Pearl C. (Whitcomb) Talbot, 88, of Springfield passed away on Oct 3rd. A lifelong resident of Springfield, Pearl was the daughter of the late Harold C. and Lucia R. (Bradley) Whitcomb. She was the widow of Bertrand "Babe" Talbot who passed away in 1999 after 49 years of marriage. Upon graduating from Commerce High School in 1944, Pearl was employed for a time as a secretary by Buxton, Inc. and then Ralph D. Jones before staying at home to raise her family. Pearl spent her happiest years at the family cottage in Madison, Connecticut where she loved to host her family, read quietly, walk the beaches and poke around the many small shops and towns along the shore .Pearl leaves behind her five children - daughter Christine Dentzau and her husband Tom, daughter Jeanne Kahle and her husband Jim and son James Talbot, all of Springfield. Her son Gerald Talbot of Marshall, TX and her daughter Elizabeth Keefe and her husband George of Westfield, MA. She also leaves 6 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson as well as a dear niece and nephew and their families. Pearl was predeceased by her beloved sister Rose Killela in 2012. Her family would like to thank the caring staff in The Cottage at Keystone Woods, Springfield for the patience and friendship they provided to Pearl and her family during her time there. Pear's family would also like to thank the staff at Wingate of East Longmeadow, and especially Amber of Life Choice Hospice for helping to make their Mom's final days calm and peaceful. Family and friends are invited to calling hour on Wednesday October 7 at 9 to 10am at the Tylunas Funeral Home ,159 Broadway Chicopee followed by a graveside service at Oak Gove cemetery ,426 Bay Street Springfield. .
